This suit was designed/pattered from the 'Metroid: Other M Nintendo' game. As whiny as this addition to the Metroid series was, I still really love Samus Aran. So much so, that I chose her for my first venture into gaming cosplay.
After fabricating a design/pattern turn-around, choosing the right material and colors; I turned over the fabrication to a fetish company to piece the pattern together. I mean, who ELSE would be better to work with Latex than a fetish company right?!
This is my first latex costume, and it has taught me a LOT! Like, I need someone to assist me in getting the suit on and off (squeezing all the air out of the feet/hands and applying the shine to the suit is a 2 person process.). That I have to buy my latex shine, which is lube, in bulk (lol). That the shine gets on EVERYTHING!!!!! And once in the suit, I can't do anything for myself. ie. Open doors, fix my wig, fix my makeup, pickup anything w/o covering it in lube. This is where having a handler is absolutely imperative.
All the challenges aside, I do think latex was the perfect choice for the Zero Suit. And the shine of the material photographs amazingly.
I wore this for the first time at DragonCon, then again at the Cincinnati Comic Expo.
I hope you enjoy the photos!
